Air Mi Eats hosts several initiatives to help reduce waste and to champion Nike’s overarching sustainability goals.

 

REDUCING FOOD WASTE

Minimizing food waste is a top priority at Air Mi. Our culinary teams closely monitor their food production and waste levels with the help of LeanPath software. LeanPath’s smart meters help us to reduce waste levels, to alter recipes for efficiency, and to make leaner purchasing decisions. 

Thanks to Nike’s partnership with LeanPath, Air Mi locations kept more than 14 tons of waste out of landfills last year! Learn more about your location’s specific metrics in the café.

REUSABLE DISHWARE

In 2017, disposable food wares were replaced with reusable dishware and lids, reducing 61 lbs. of waste per Nike employee per year. Reusable dishware/lids and hot/cold plastic tumblers are available at all Air Mi Eats locations. 

 

CUTTING BACK ON PAPER WASTE

All Air Mi Eats locations are now stocked with single-serve napkin dispensers, helping to cut annual paper napkin waste at by up to 30%.

Our practices include back of house operational practices to reduce waste before it’s generated, programs to help consumers decrease food waste, feeding those in need during instances of excess safe, unserved food, and finally implementing composting programs wherever possible.
